What would make a man throw away his family for a drug using sex worker?
My friend is a beautiful 26 year old woman with 2 young children with a man she has been with since she was 16. He has recently left her for a 23 year old prostitute who is a heroin addict. He is 28 and he has moved in with the prossie and they are trying for a baby. How on earth do these things happen?? And how can I console her if the woman who he left her for is not even richer/better looking/ than her to try and get her head around why it happened?
The other woman is a steriotypical hard drug user, no teeth, marked arms, hep c etc
he does not use drugs, he drinks alcohol but as far as we know,drug free until now

First of all, it is not your friends fault, as far as I am concerned. I have had a few friends (male), and fellow workers, again males, abandon perfectly good marriages and relationships for exactly the type of person you have described. I have asked a couple of them why and I never did receive a very intelligent answer. Yet the woman they left were attractive, educated and someone any decent man would love to be around.. Not having any psychological training, it just appears to me that some men just have some kind of meltdown with their relationship.Again, tell your friend that it is not her fault.
